Decisions, Decisions, Decisions...

Alright everyone, here's a question for you.

How did you choose which car or truck would be your Street Machine?

I'm sure a lot of you are just like me and like a lot different cars for different reasons, so how do you choose which vehicle you will buy or build and have for your car!?!?

Is/was it something that has created memories and emotions from your youth while growing up?

Was it a car your parents had and you grew up with?

Was it a car your buddy had and you'd cruise the streets in?

Was it your first car?

Was it a car you seen in a magazine or at a car show that you fell in love with?

OR, was it something different?

Was it a car your Dad bought new and is still in the family?

You come across a deal on a car that you just can't pass up?

You couldn't find the exact car you wanted and just had to have a car, so you bought what was available?

Did you have the patience to wait and find the ultimate car for yourself?

If you're like me, you love all cars, or at least most cars of a certain brand. Although GM is my favorite, I do like cars from other brands as well.

If you are a GM, Ford or Mopar person, How do you decide on which model you will have? How did you decide on just one - The ONE for YOU?

For me, Novas have always been a favorite (Thank you Scott Sullivan) and still have a special place for me. My buddy had one in High School we would cruise around in. My first Muscle Car was a 1972 Nova and before that, I was always a Monte Carlo fan. In fact, my very first car was a 1979 Monte Carlo before the Nova came along.

Because of my buddies car and my 72 I fell in love with the 3rd generation Novas. Even to this day there aren't many of them being built following today's trends like the Camaros, Chevelles, 1st and 2nd gen. Novas etc. are. Sure there are a lot of Pro Street cars built with this 3rd gen. Nova body style, and I love every one of them but would like to see more getting the modern treatment as well.

It's been a long time since I have had a Street Machine in my garage from the 50's, 60's or 70's and I'd really love to have one again. But, like many, my biggest problem is deciding which car to get! As time goes on, Ideas, likes and dislikes change. Although I love all cars, choosing one car for myself has become my largest obstacle in owning a car (besides the prices to buy one today).

I'd love to hear how you got through a similar situation in choosing the right car for you!

What was your criteria in choosing your car?

What were you looking for?

How did you choose between the cars that you love?

Was rarity of the car and parts availability a huge factor for you?

Available parts to modify your car to build how you want it a big consideration?

What else have I not considered? What made you choose what you chose?

I would love to hear your opinions, suggestions, advice and ideas on this subject! Please, feel free to send them to me at:streetmachinecentral@gmail.com

Just a reminder, you can have your car featured on the website blog by sending your info, stories and photos to the e-mail address listed above!

Thanks for reading! Until next time.....
